Certified Arborist

Key Responsibilities
As a Certified Arborist, you’ll bring valuable technical expertise and problem-solving skills to diverse projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct vegetation surveys, tree identification, and diagnostic assessments.
- Develop tree maps, conservation plans, and existing condition assessments.
- Perform forest stand delineations, including species, infestations, and conservation areas.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and local agencies on project planning and compliance.
- Provide occasional teardown/rework support on projects (e.g., infill lot development).
- Prepare and deliver client-ready reports, including Tree Preservation Plans (TPPs) and Forest Stand Delineations (FSDs), for review by local agencies (Fairfax, Vienna, etc.).
- Mentor and support junior staff to foster skill development and team growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant arboriculture or environmental consulting experience, including project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to tree preservation, conservation, and land development within Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.
- Skilled in tree and vegetation identification, field surveys, and developing conservation documentation.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable performing a combination of office and field duties year-round, with willingness for regional travel.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
