A New York-based hedge fund is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Paralegal to support its legal and HR functions. This is a hands-on role for a highly organized legal professional who can draft, review, and manage employment and commercial documents with minimal supervision. Attorney oversight is available for escalations. Prior experience at a hedge fund, private equity firm, or financial services law firm is required
Responsibilities Include:
- Draft and finalize offer letters for all employee levels, ensuring compensation details are accurate and templates are kept current.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance to verify compensation terms prior to issuance.
- Draft bonus letters, deferred compensation agreements, and clawback provisions under attorney guidance.
- Support documentation of carried interest and co-investment arrangements during annual compensation cycles.
- Draft separation agreements, severance letters, and general releases for attorney review prior to execution.
- Manage execution logistics, including review periods, revocation windows, and countersignature tracking.
- Review and redline vendor agreements, NDAs, consulting arrangements, and engagement letters.
- Flag risks for attorney review; maintain the contract management system and track key deadlines.
- Support review of non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality provisions for incoming and departing employees.
Requirements:
- Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree with 4–7 years of experience in employment, corporate, or commercial law.
- Strong drafting and redlining skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word Track Changes.
- Hands-on experience with offer letters, separation agreements, NDAs, and commercial contracts.
- Working knowledge of New York federal and state employment law fundamentals.
- High degree of discretion when handling sensitive compensation and personnel matters.
- Prior experience at a hedge fund, private equity firm, or financial services law firm preferred.
