Job Description LHH Recruitment Solutions has a Technical Support Senior Engineer opening for our optoelectronics client in the Moorestown-Lenola, NJ area! This direct hire role allows you to utilize your training and experience in the optoelectronics market and lead the way for process and procedural operational improvements. You will be a critical component in training customers and internal organizational staff on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing procedures. You will also be responsible for travelling to client sites to oversee and complete installations, upgrades and maintenance. THIS IS A HIGH TRAVEL ROLE UP TO 50% IN THE UNITED STATES, POTENTIALLY OVERSEAS IN THE FUTURE.
Salary range: $120-135k annually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop in-depth knowledge of product portfolio and technologies.
• Deliver training to customers and internal team members, prioritizing service engineers.
• Provide technical support via onsite visits, phone, email, and web-based service applications.
• Troubleshoot and repair tools both at company facilities and in the field.
• Establish and maintain parts rebuild and preventive maintenance programs.
• Act as an internal technical resource and first responder for service calls.
• Manage and maintain a Technical Support Schedule to ensure timely service delivery.
• Collaborate with service contractors on technical and service documentation.
• Travel to customer sites for installations, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and on-demand service.
• Participate in system acceptance testing and customer training during installations.
• Assist engineering teams with design, documentation, and BOM creation as needed.
• Coordinate directly with customers to plan service and travel schedules.
• Support new start-up system and training at headquarters.
• Strong technical background in vacuum systems or related equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively for customer support.
• Experience with documentation, scheduling, and coordination of technical services.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable field of study/expertise.
• 7+ years of demonstrated experience in mechanical equipment and/or system design, including mechanical detail and assembly drawings, GD&T, and BOM generation and maintenance.
• Experience in SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Experience with AutoCAD LT.
• Experience with ERP systems - Epicor highly preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials selection, and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to interpret and utilize detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with project management and coordination of design-to-production workflows.
