Janitorial Lead

Full Time 40 hours/week $18/hour

Estimated hours M-F 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm.

True North Goodwill is hiring for a lead position for the In-house janitorial department. Excellent opportunity to lead a small team and hone your quality control skills.

As the Janitorial Lead, you’ll be responsible for:

• Leading janitorial staff in all daily cleaning and stocking duties as needed
• Taking direction from the Business Services Manager and Director of Business Services
• Managing inventory of all janitorial supplies and chemicals via Cintas and Staples.com
• Notifying Facilities Director promptly when major repairs are needed or issues arise
• Overseeing weekly schedules of Janitorial Staff
• Daily confirmation of completion of daily janitorial duties via checklist sign off
• Enforcing janitorial safety and efficiency procedure

Required Skills and Abilities

• Punctuality and strict attendance
• High attention to detail and standard for a clean environment
• Demonstrated skill in organization, priority setting, and sound decision making
• No professional cleaning experience necessary. We will train

• Must possess a strong work ethic
• Must have ability to follow directions, and give direction to subordinate janitorial staff
• Maintain a positive, patient, and can-do attitude
• Must possess good time management skills
• Must have good organizational skills
• Must have the ability to learn and retain safety requirements when working with chemical cleaners and blood borne pathogens
• General knowledge of cleaning supplies and janitorial equipment (Preferred)

Education and Experience

• High school grad or GED strongly preferred
• Janitorial experience preferred, not required
• Team leadership experience preferred, not required
• Forklift certification, not required (TNG will train and provide testing).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and power point strongly preferred.
• Proficient in multi-tasking, problem solving, and scheduling

Physical Requirements

These work environmental factors are general in nature… CONSTANT: Standing, walking, bending. FREQUENT: Sitting at a desk/computer. Taking single flight of stairs (up and down) multiple times a day. Verbal communication. OCCASIONAL: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Climbing ladders. RARE: Be able to kneel and work in low places.
