POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a two-year, grant-funded position with potential to be extended. This Instructor will be supporting the agency’s partnership with Auberle’s YouthBuild Program. The Youth Build Instructor develops curriculum and lesson plans using formal and informal assessment(s), provides classroom instruction, maintains student records according to contractual guidelines, and supports students’ in transitioning to post – secondary education or training, employment or other personal goals. This Instructor will be critical to delivering curriculum that applies to labor trade competencies, furthering their students job readiness skills, and delivering upon desired contract outcomes. This role represents the agency and collaborates with the YouthBuild team and Home Builders Institute (HBI) trainers regularly. This position is 100% in-person located at Auberle in McKeesport There may be occasional travel requested for internal
and external collaborations and training opportunities.
Duties will also include but are not limited to:
- Display strong comprehension for instructing algebra 1 and other mathematical concepts that are
tailored to the trades industry - Instruct using a variety of delivery methods including lecture, question and answer, small groups, collaborative instruction, and self-directed learning and motivate students through classroom contextualized instruction to learn basic life, academic and employability skills
- Communicate consistently with students about goal setting, barrier and resource identification, and make referrals to a Program Facilitator as needed.
- Manage daily classroom activities, including conflict resolution and maintaining a safe, productive
learning environment - Be aware of and follow guidelines for all applicable regulatory entities such as the Department of
Public Welfare, Department of Labor, and PA Department of Education. and accountability
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday (Hours may vary depending on department needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree AND 1 years of Experience teaching,tutoring, or facilitating instruction required.
External Hiring Range: $18.25-$18.98
Retention Bonus:
$1500 retention bonus to paid at 6 months and 9 months.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance.
