Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportech’s reasonable and good-faith estimate for new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Job Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality for both IT and OT environments. You will maintain and support desktop hardware, network connectivity, user systems, and production floor workstations. You will also partner with operations to mitigate downtime, improve reliability, and evolve infrastructure to support growth. You’ll need to move fast, handle ambiguity, and maintain strong communication with both IT peers, office and production staff.
Essential Job Functions
- Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support company workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other peripherals.
- Support tablets, industrial PCs, or operator workstations used in production / MES interfaces.
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
- Manage and respond to technical help tickets submitted via ticketing system, phone, email, and walk-ups.
- Provide Level 1/2 support to end users by troubleshooting and resolving issues within published SLAs.
- Work with hardware and software vendors.
- Identify recurring technical issues and deploy solutions to address the root of the problems proactively.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Provide employee onboarding/offboarding in accordance with SOX requirements and internal controls.
- Manage asset lifecycle; inventory, procurement, deployment, refurbishment, disposal.
- Document systems, processes, troubleshooting steps, and maintain a knowledge base.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and external vendors to support uptime and system enhancements.
- Assist in security, access controls, user authentication, auditing, and policy compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, or 3+ years of hands-on IT support or technician role, ideally in manufacturing.
- Solid working knowledge of Windows desktops/servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, switches, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi.
- Experience with imaging, deployment, and scripting or automation (PowerShell, SCCM, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills, written and oral communication skills, and customer service orientation.
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
- Strong organizational, problem solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical, and non-technical personnel, and at all organizational levels.
- Excellent time management skills, and the ability to take initiative.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Willingness to participate in after-hours support rotation.
- Knowledge of OT / control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA) or basic familiarity with EM, data collection, sensor networks preferred.
- Experience with ERP MES troubleshooting preferred.
- Experience with ITSM / ticketing tools, change management, ITIL practices preferred.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft / Azure / Microsoft 365, Cisco, etc., preferred.
- Previous project experience in IT / industrial integration preferred.
