Position Summary
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for managing electrical construction and service projects from kickoff through closeout. This role oversees schedules, budgets, field coordination, and client communication while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within scope. The ideal candidate has hands-on electrical experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead projects in fast-paced industrial and commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously from pre-construction through completion
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans
- Coordinate with field supervisors, electricians, engineers, and subcontractors
- Review drawings, specifications, and change orders
- Track labor, materials, and project costs to maintain profitability
- Communicate regularly with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Support estimating and bidding efforts as needed
- Lead project closeout, including punch lists, as-builts, and billing
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction or industrial electrical projects
- 2+ years of project management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and labor
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management software a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on job sites throughout the Phoenix metro area
Preferred Experience
- Industrial electrical or controls projects
- Service-based electrical project management
- PLC, automation, or instrumentation exposure
- Estimating or pre-construction support experience
