Step into a rewarding role shaping the lives of middle and high school students with autism by supporting their unique learning needs in a specialized educational setting. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school environment for the 2026–2027 academic year. Working weekdays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, you will guide a small caseload of 15-18 students, all following an extended content standard, and help them build valuable life and academic skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for Adapted Curriculum Licensure in Special Education.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with high levels of autism, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of extended content standards and individualized education program (IEP) implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop trust and rapport with students, families, and school staff.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, growth, and positive behavior supports.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, personalized instruction tailored to each student’s abilities, strengths, and needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and colleagues.
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for all students.
- Track student progress and communicate milestones regularly to parents and specialists.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
- Creatively adapt curriculum materials and activities for real-world life skills.
