Celebrating over 35 years of success and continual growth, ESP Associates is currently seeking a strategic, growth-oriented Land Development professional to join our leadership team.

As the Texas Director, you will be responsible for overseeing managers within the Community Infrastructure Business Unit and land development projects. The Director will initially focus on expanding ESP’s services in the Central Texas (Austin / San Antonio) market with the opportunity to continue growth initiatives throughout Texas.

As a leader, you will set the pace for ESP’s growth for the Community Infrastructure Business Unit in the Texas Land Development market and beyond! You will lead decisions regarding strategy, market penetration, team growth/development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • The Director will be responsible for the Texas engineering, planning and landscape architecture groups by providing training, mentoring, technical and administrative guidance, and oversight.
  • Business Development: Develops and maintains relationships with current and prospective clients. Maintains a high public profile with our targeted client base, including participating as an active member in professional activities, societies and organizations.
  • Manage and oversee the managers and service lines within Texas locations of Community Infrastructure including private and public/municipal projects and operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
  • Leadership and Vision/Strategic Planning for Growth: Develops and maintains relationships with clients, key decision makers, as well as local municipalities, to increase Company exposure and position the Company for land development contracts.
  • Pursues, leads, and assists in preparing and approving proposals and qualifications statements. Projects may include but are not limited to public sector, higher education, parks & recreation, residential, multi-family developments, industrial, K-12 schools, mixed-use, and rezoning/entitlement projects.
  • Assist Division Manager(s) and Group Managers in Texas locations with workforce planning, monthly billing, and final review of completed reports and maps within the Community Infrastructure Business Unit.
  • Manage the Community Infrastructure Central Texas Region to achieve expected profitability and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related degree.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, Professional Landscape Architect (PLA in Texas, or Certified Planner.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience and leadership in private land development and/or municipal/public projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to effectively and professionally interact with team members, clients, governmental review authorities, government officials, and the public.
  • Demonstrated expertise adjusting to priorities and demands from multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Firm understanding of risk management and loss prevention.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and business development skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering and/or planning & landscape architecture principles, practice standards, procedures and project management.
  • Superior organizational and planning skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
