Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator provides organization wide clinical coordination and quality leadership across BCTT programs. The position oversees the Quality Assurance Coordinator, works collaboratively with the Medical Director, and leads BCTT’s Quality Assurance and Improvement, QA and I, process.

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for strengthening clinical quality, patient safety, documentation, treatment planning, staff development, regulatory compliance, program development, operational efficiency, and measurable outcomes across BCTT’s continuum of services.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinical Quality, Patient Safety and QA and I

• Oversee the Quality Assurance Coordinator and organization wide QA and I activities
• Coordinate with the Medical Director regarding clinical quality, patient safety, treatment concerns, medication issues, clinical risk, and adverse events
• Lead chart reviews, documentation audits, treatment plan reviews, and clinical outcome monitoring
• Identify quality concerns, service gaps, trends, and corrective actions
• Monitor completion and effectiveness of corrective action plans
• Support CARF accreditation, licensing reviews, audits, payer requirements, and continuous regulatory readiness

Clinical Leadership and Workforce Development

• Coordinate clinical services and standards across BCTT programs
• Provide clinical supervision and consultation within professional and Board authorization
• Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, retention, and development of clinicians and direct service staff
• Promote staff accountability, competency, engagement, and clinician well being
• Collaborate with program leadership regarding clinical performance and service delivery

Program Development and Operations

• Support development, implementation, expansion, and evaluation of behavioral health and human services programs
• Assist with program design, policies, procedures, clinical workflows, performance measures, and implementation plans
• Lead or participate in projects involving multiple programs, departments, deadlines, and deliverables
• Improve EHR utilization, documentation processes, workflows, communication, and operational efficiency

Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation

• Support compliance with COMAR, CARF, Medicaid, licensing, contractual, payer, and other regulatory requirements
• Coordinate documentation and preparation for audits, licensing reviews, corrective actions, and accreditation activities
• Promote continuous compliance readiness across programs

Financial Stewardship and Resource Management

• Participate in program budget development and monitoring
• Review staffing utilization, productivity, resource needs, and service delivery costs
• Assist leadership with balancing clinical quality, staffing needs, outcomes, and financial sustainability
• Support strategic allocation of clinical and program resources

Grant Writing and Program Sustainability

• Participate in grant writing, proposal development, RFP responses, and funding applications
• Develop program narratives, scopes of service, measurable objectives, and implementation plans
• Collaborate with leadership and fiscal staff on program budgets and budget narratives
• Assist with grant reporting, outcome measurement, and identification of future funding opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland LCSW C license
• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work
• Minimum five years of demonstrated management, clinical leadership, program management, or senior level behavioral health experience
• Demonstrated experience supervising or leading clinical and direct service staff
• Experience with clinical documentation, treatment planning, chart review, QA and I, and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated budget development or budget management experience
• Demonstrated grant writing, proposal development, or funding experience
• Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, expansion, or redesign
• Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines
• Strong leadership, communication, writing, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Experience with electronic health records and clinical workflow systems
• Successful completion of required criminal, Child Protective Services, and other applicable background checks

Strongly Preferred

• Maryland Board Approved Social Work Supervisor, strongly preferred and given significant consideration
• Experience supervising licensed social workers and behavioral health professionals
• CARF accreditation and COMAR experience
• Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement leadership experience
• Organizational development and change management experience
• Experience developing or launching behavioral health programs
• Experience with EHR implementation or workflow modernization
• Senior level clinical operations experience
