Custom Software Systems, Inc. (CSS) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. This expert-level role is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with a strong analytical background and deep technical knowledge in specialized domains such as systems architecture, telecommunications, cybersecurity, or systems integration. The ideal candidate will provide strategic technical guidance on executive-level project teams, contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions, and lead complex initiatives from concept to execution. This position requires independent thinking, advanced problem-solving, and a proven ability to apply innovative approaches to exceptionally complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert support, analysis, and research into exceptionally
  complex problems and processes relating to the subject matter.

• Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams,
  providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives.

• Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and
  oral communication skills.

• Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.

• Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.

• Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious.

• Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.

• Assignments are often self-initiated.

• Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

• Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.

Required Qualifications

• At least seven (7+) years of experience in the specified technical field,
  or four years of recent, demonstrated experience with specified
  emerging technology, and four years of experience in a closely
  related technical field.

• Requires eight (8+) years of analytical experience.

• Expertise is in a particular area of Information Technology (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Systems Management), or a specific functional area (e.g., finance, logistics, and operations research).

Education

• BA/BS or MA/MS in computer science, information systems,
  mathematics, relevant field, or equivalent experience required.
