Job DescriptionSalary: $16 - $22

FLSA Status: Temporary, Non-exempt

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

General Statement of Duties: The intern will support the Citys ongoing technology initiatives. He or she will be given the opportunity to interact with department heads and to be exposed to the technology within each department. The interns interests and goals will be taken into account for special projects.

Immediate Supervisor: Information Technology Manager

Supervises: None

Provides Work Direction to: None

Major Job Functions

1. Information Systems:
   1. Assist Information Technology Manager with projects as directed
   2. Imaging computers and setting up workstations
   3. Assist with the implementation and management of the network infrastructure
   4. Assist with migrating and implementing active directory user profiles
2. Support:
   1. Complete IT support tickets as assigned
   2. Scan documents into the Citys document management system
   3. Create documentation related to support requests
   4. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network and system configuration
   5. Assist with patching and remediating system vulnerabilities
3. General:
   1. Promote a positive and motivating environment
   2. Follow all safety policies and procedures
   3. Follow all City policies and procedures
   4. Treat fellow employees with respect and integrity
   5. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, developers, city officials, and the general public
   6. Make decisions that are always in the best interest of the City
   7. Perform other duties and projects as assigned
   8. Confer with supervisor, peers, and employees to discuss and resolve issues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Valid Drivers License
3. Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, Information Systems, Information Technology; Or currently enrolled in a program
4. Experience in the field or certifications may substitute for education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Municipal or County government experience
2. Certifications for Networking, Project Management, Cybersecurity or similar
3. Professional experience working with enterprise level equipment
