️ Maintenance Mechanic I
Clackamas, OR 97015 | Dairy Plant
Hourly Pay: Up to $31.97/hour
Shifts: 2nd (3 PM - 11 PM) or 3rd (10 PM - 6:30 AM) - 5 days/week, 8 hours/day (includes weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed)
Assignment: 12 months | Temp-to-Perm | Extension Eligible
About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to join our dedicated team at a fast-paced dairy production facility. This is a hands-on role where you'll keep our plant running smoothly by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining essential equipment. If you're mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and eager to grow into a permanent opportunity, this role is for you.
⚡ Flexibility is key, during the probationary period, schedules may vary (nights, weekends, or holidays with notice).
What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Mechanic I, you will:
- Follow safety protocols (Lockout/Tagout, GMP, Global Food Safety practices) while maintaining a clean and organized work area
- ⚙️ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic issues on conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots, and more
- Use blueprints, schematics, and manuals to diagnose and correct mechanical problems
- Perform Preventive Maintenance (PMs) and routine inspections to keep equipment running at peak performance
- Complete maintenance work orders, logs, and reports accurately and on time
- Rebuild, fabricate, and weld equipment as needed (mild and stainless steel)
- Collaborate with vendors/contractors and assist in ordering parts or services
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, spoilage, and improve efficiency
- ️ Train others on safe equipment operation and maintenance procedures
What You'll Bring
- ✅ 18+ years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Strong mechanical/electrical repair skills with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and machine shop tools
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, twist, and stand for long periods
- ️ Manual dexterity, coordination, and balance
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality work
- Preferred: LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) license
