Client: Food Manufacturing Company
Duration: 11 Months
Location: Plymouth, MN 55447
Shift: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM Start
Schedule: May require some evening or overnight hours based on project needs
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Description:

Job Summary

Support research scientists at an R&D center by conducting food-grade pilot trials, laboratory experiments, routine analysis, and microbiological testing. The role also supports equipment maintenance, research projects, and EHS and food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research scientists with research projects and activities.
  • Conduct pilot fermentation trials and routine laboratory experiments.
  • Perform microbiological plating and sampling.
  • Execute designed experiments and troubleshoot issues during experimentation.
  • Perform routine laboratory analysis and accurately document results.
  • Organize and communicate research results to project teams.
  • Maintain pilot plant and laboratory equipment.
  • Follow corporate EHS, food safety, and laboratory safety requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with research teams and support project activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with interest in: Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, Related Science field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to execute experiments, troubleshoot problems, and make corrections during testing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related Science field.
  • Experience with fermentation and general knowledge of fermentation biology.
  • 6 months–2 years of experience in a food-grade pilot plant environment.
  • Hands-on experience with: Microbiology sampling, Sterile techniques, Fermentation principles and operations
  • Experience with downstream purification technologies, including: Chromatography, Centrifugation, Filtration, Membrane separation, Crystallization, Evaporation
