Schedule: May require some evening or overnight hours based on project needs

Description:
Job Summary
Support research scientists at an R&D center by conducting food-grade pilot trials, laboratory experiments, routine analysis, and microbiological testing. The role also supports equipment maintenance, research projects, and EHS and food safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research scientists with research projects and activities.
- Conduct pilot fermentation trials and routine laboratory experiments.
- Perform microbiological plating and sampling.
- Execute designed experiments and troubleshoot issues during experimentation.
- Perform routine laboratory analysis and accurately document results.
- Organize and communicate research results to project teams.
- Maintain pilot plant and laboratory equipment.
- Follow corporate EHS, food safety, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with research teams and support project activities.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with interest in: Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, Related Science field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to execute experiments, troubleshoot problems, and make corrections during testing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related Science field.
- Experience with fermentation and general knowledge of fermentation biology.
- 6 months–2 years of experience in a food-grade pilot plant environment.
- Hands-on experience with: Microbiology sampling, Sterile techniques, Fermentation principles and operations
- Experience with downstream purification technologies, including: Chromatography, Centrifugation, Filtration, Membrane separation, Crystallization, Evaporation
