Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Providence, Rhode Island. This role supports a dynamic plaintiff-side medical malpractice and personal injury practice, with a strong focus on discovery management and handling medical records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled at managing complex case files from intake through trial.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and respond to written discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Organize and prepare discovery responses while assisting attorneys with strategy and case organization.
• Request, track, and obtain medical records and billing from healthcare providers, hospitals, and third-party vendors.
• Review, summarize, and index large volumes of medical records and billing information.
• Develop medical chronologies and case summaries for attorney evaluation.
• Maintain and manage case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness in both electronic and physical formats.
• Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, subpoenas, witness files, and trial binders.
• Coordinate with clients, experts, medical providers, and opposing counsel as needed.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and discovery schedules.• Extensive litigation paralegal experience in medical malpractice and/or personal injury cases.
• Proficiency in managing discovery requests and responses.
• Hands-on experience with organizing and analyzing medical records.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
