Job Description

Job DescriptionAbout the Role

A well-established and rapidly growing boutique litigation firm based in the Boise/Eagle, Idaho area is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join its team. This is a high-autonomy role for an experienced civil litigator who wants to own a full docket, work directly with firm leadership on case strategy, and enjoy genuine work-life balance — without the grind of BigLaw hours or mandatory business development.

The firm handles complex civil matters across real estate, construction, commercial business, business torts, and general civil litigation, and is actively scaling its attorney headcount. This is an opportunity to step into a senior role from day one, with a clear non-equity partnership track on the horizon.

What You'll Do

  • Independently own and manage a full civil litigation docket across the firm's core practice areas (real estate, construction, commercial business, business torts, and general civil litigation)

  • Handle all phases of litigation including trial preparation, motion practice, discovery, and depositions

  • Work directly with the Managing Partner and firm leadership on case strategy and client matters

  • Maintain high-quality, substantive client communication in line with the firm's commitment to a differentiated client experience

  • Contribute to firm growth by potentially developing new practice areas aligned with your expertise and interests

  • Meet a minimum billable requirement of 120 hours/month (1,440 annually), with uncapped quarterly bonus opportunity for hours billed above the threshold

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 12+ years of civil litigation practice experience

  • Demonstrated ability to independently carry a full civil litigation docket

  • Strong courtroom presence with meaningful trial experience across multiple civil cases

  • Robust motion practice, discovery, and deposition experience

  • Excellent legal writing skills — brief and motion drafting

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Active Idaho State Bar membership or eligibility to waive in

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in real estate, construction, or commercial litigation

  • Background in business torts, business dissolution litigation, or appellate work

  • Prior experience at a boutique, mid-size, or in-house legal setting

  • Established book of business (welcome but not required)

  • Interest in identifying and developing new practice areas for the firm

Tech: Westlaw, Westlaw AI

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually

  • Uncapped quarterly bonus: $25,000–$50,000+ annually, formulaically tied to hours and revenue above the 120-hour/month minimum — total comp potential well over $200K

  • No business development requirement — the firm invests significantly in marketing and maintains a dedicated intake specialist for new client consultations

  • No pro bono or consultation requirements

  • Non-equity partnership track available after 1–2 years (program in development)

  • Work-life balance: attorneys typically finish by 5pm; weekend work is rare and limited to occasional trial prep

  • Low cost of living in the Boise/Eagle, Idaho area amplifies total compensation

Location

This is a hybrid role based in Idaho. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Boise/Eagle area. Idaho State Bar eligibility is required.
