We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to support mission-critical systems onsite at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV. The engineer will design, implement, secure, and maintain cloud-based solutions in support of U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives in a highly secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure cloud architectures tailored to ISR mission requirements.
- Build and maintain high-throughput data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and disseminating ISR data in real or near-real time, leveraging tools such as AWS Lambda, Kinesis, and Azure Data Factory.
- Automate mission workflows and processes using DevOps practices and tools, including Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Collaborate with ISR analysts and operators to develop advanced ISR data visualization capabilities using Elastic Stack, Grafana, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Integrate advanced applications and analytics, including AI/ML models, into ISR platforms for predictive insights and intelligence products.
- Ensure optimization and availability of ISR systems by implementing best practices for performance monitoring, resource scaling, and fault-tolerant architecture.
- Enable secure handling of ISR data by implementing DoD-compliant security frameworks, including encryption, IAM policies, and logging solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues across the pipeline, from ingestion to dissemination, to enable consistent system uptime and performance.
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience designing and deploying cloud architectures in platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and disseminating large datasets.
- Experience automating workflows and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency with container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes for application orchestration and scalability.
- Knowledge of advanced data visualization platforms, including Elastic Stack, Grafana, Kibana, or Tableau.
- Experience integrating AI/ML models into data workflows using cloud-native tools, such as AWS SageMaker or Azure ML.
- Hands-on experience implementing cloud-based security practices, including encryption and IAM role configuration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered).
- Security Clearance: TS/SCI eligibility.
Nice If You Have:
- Experience supporting intelligence or working with ISR or Intelligence Community (IC) platforms and workflows.
- Knowledge of geospatial data visualization tools, such as GeoServer or cloud-native GIS solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles in cloud environments.
- AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator certification.
Experience operating in contested, degraded, or operationally constrained (CDO) communication environments. - Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
