Greenville Together: A Home for All is a coordinated, community-wide initiative—backed by United Way of Greenville County—committed to functionally unsheltered homelessness in Greenville. Our goal is to prevent homelessness whenever possible, and when it does occur, ensure it is rare, brief, and non-recurring through a comprehensive, systems-level response.
Position Title: Housing Navigator
Reports To: Housing Navigation Program Manager
Position Summary
The Housing Navigator serves as the day-to-day operational lead for housing placements within Greenville Together. This role is the primary point of contact for landlords and housing providers and works closely with Community Navigators to match participants to available units and support successful lease-up.
The Housing Navigator ensures units move quickly from availability to occupancy and that landlord relationships are responsive and professional.
Responsibilities

Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for landlords and property managers.

Maintain regular communication regarding unit availability, participant referrals, and tenancy issues.

Conduct unit walkthroughs and inspections as needed.

Coordinate with Community Navigators to match participants to appropriate housing units.

Facilitate referrals, documentation exchange, and approval processes.

Support lease execution and move-in coordination.

Troubleshoot conflicts or concerns between landlords and tenants in collaboration with Community Navigators.

Identify and escalate barriers that delay housing placements.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records within the centralized housing inventory system.

Track placement timelines and support performance reporting needs.

Support landlord retention efforts by ensuring timely communication and problem resolution.
Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in housing navigation, rapid rehousing, landlord engagement, property management, case management, or related housing-focused roles.

Demonstrated experience working directly with landlords, property managers, or housing providers preferred.

Experience coordinating housing placements and supporting lease-up processes strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, urban studies, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.

Knowledge of leasing processes, fair housing standards, and tenant placement practices preferred.

Experience working within homelessness response systems or serving vulnerable populations preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple placements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable using data systems and technology platforms to track housing inventory and placement activity.
