Opportunity Overview:
SD Solutions is seeking a System Engineer Level 2 to support cloud-based and enterprise IT environments for DHS. The successful candidate will bring technical depth across system deployment, operations, and financial platform support.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering.
- Expertise in load balancers, application servers, JAVA, Oracle Middleware, and automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with financial system platforms and year-end processing support.
- Familiarity with DHS components and law enforcement contexts.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
- Expert-level experience with cloud and virtualized services.
- Oracle suite administration expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with financial system technology platforms.
- Experience within DHS and or its components and within the law enforcement context.
- Experience in deploying and maintaining systems or services in a Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience in developing and deploying business intelligence reporting solutions.
- Expert in cloud service and/or other virtualized services.
- Expert in Oracle suite administration
- Prior ICE experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and maintain systems using load balancer devices, Lambda functions, containerization, Oracle Databases, Oracle Middleware, Java/J2EE, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Support the development and operations of cloud and virtualized environments.
- Implement automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Airflow, and Liquibase.
- Provide technical support for financial systems, particularly during year-end processing.
- Communicate complex technical issues to executive-level government officials.
