Job Description

The salary range is $69K-$86,500 with a 10% bonus. This particular plant has about 25 employees but during the pack season (August - October) they will have up to 100 employees.

Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Brooten, MN

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all quality assurance and food safety programs within the facility

  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, HACCP plans, GMPs, and company quality standards

  • Lead the implementation, verification, and maintenance of HACCP and preventive control programs

  • Conduct and oversee internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections

  • Investigate quality issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes

  • Partner with operations, sanitation, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure quality and food safety standards are met

  • Maintain quality documentation, reporting, and key performance metrics

  • Train plant personnel on food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures

  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the quality team

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality systems and plant performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field preferred

  • Several years of quality assurance experience within food manufacturing

  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations

  • Experience with regulatory inspections and third-party audits

  • Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQF, BRC, or other GFSI-certified programs

  • Prior experience managing a plant-level quality team

  • Strong background in continuous improvement and process optimization
