Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Night Shift

Job DescriptionThe Night Mechanic Position is responsible for conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs on diesel trucks and heavy machinery. This overnight role is essential for ensuring that all equipment is thoroughly inspected, maintained, and fully operational for morning dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:
• Check and replace engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, hydraulic fluid, and other vital fluids
• Conduct routine inspections of diesel trucks and heavy equipment
• Carry out minor mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance
• Detect potential mechanical problems and inform management of major repairs
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Guarantee that all equipment is prepared and functional for morning dispatch

Qualifications
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment is preferred.
• Capability to perform basic mechanical repairs independently
• Understanding of preventative maintenance practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work overnight shifts

RequirementsPhysical Requirements
• Standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and shop environments
• Clean and maintain the maintenance shop and wash bays
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
