JACQUET is an established market leader in the distribution of stainless steel and nickel alloys in plate and round bar. Jacquet strives to be the best supplier of stainless steel and nickel cut parts by providing high quality in-house processing. Metals are sold either as-is or cut to made-to-measure sizes using plasma machines, water jets, lasers or saws. Jacquet applications cover many industrial sectors such as the water, environment, energy, mechanical and forged metal construction, chemical and agri-food, gas processing and storage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. We have four strategically placed locations within the US including Pennsylvania, California, Texas, and Wisconsin with many more globally.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner at our Limerick, PA facility.
General Description:
Assist in organizing production according to demand and quality standards. Ensure orders are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner, ensuring the timely and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.
Reports to: Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the production workflow of daily orders
- In conjunction with the Operations manager, plan and prioritize operations to ensure on-time order processing.
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand, coordinating with the plant manager to ensure needs are met.
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time – escalate potentially late orders to plant manager for remediation.
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Communicate issues as they arise with the sales team.
- Respond to sales’ requests for order status.
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.).
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports
- Keep paperwork organized
- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff
Other Duties:
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory.
- Manage cycle counting.
- Manage monthly scrap processes.
Requirements and Skills:
- Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- Familiarity with metal industry
- Mechanical aptitude and technical expertise.
- Computer literacy with ERP systems and the Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory processes.
Qualifications:
- Prior scheduling or planning experience in a production environment preferred, but not required.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations for general industry.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 preferred, but not required
