A well established HVAC organization is looking for an experienced HVAC Installer to join our growing team serving primarily Jersey City and the surrounding Hudson County area. We have been serving customers since 1953, and while we are a smaller company today, with approximately 10 employees, we are growing. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team where your experience matters, your work is visible, and you can take ownership of installations from start to finish.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced installer who knows how to work through the challenges that come with HVAC installation in a city, including tight spaces, multi-story buildings, difficult equipment access, custom ductwork, and situations where a crane simply is not an option. If you take pride in doing the job correctly, can work with minimal supervision, and have broad residential and light commercial installation experience, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an HVAC Installer, you will install and replace residential and light commercial HVAC equipment while ensuring every job is completed safely, professionally, and in accordance with applicable codes.

Responsibilities include:

• Install and replace furnaces, air conditioning systems, condensers, air handlers, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, mini-split systems, rooftop units, and related HVAC equipment.
• Perform residential and light commercial installations throughout Hudson County, primarily in Jersey City.
• Disassemble and reassemble packaged HVAC units on site when equipment cannot be moved into place by crane.
• Fabricate, modify, and install ductwork transitions on site as required for individual installations.
• Install sheet metal, flexible ductwork, vents, and other air distribution components.
• Safely transport equipment and components through tight stairwells, attics, crawl spaces, closets, rooftops, and other challenging installation environments.
• Read and interpret equipment specifications, installation instructions, mechanical plans, and technical documentation.
• Complete installations in compliance with manufacturer requirements and applicable local, state, and federal codes.
• Follow proper refrigerant handling and job-site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with management and dispatch to keep installations on schedule.
• Troubleshoot installation-related issues and determine appropriate solutions in the field.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
• Test completed installations and verify proper system operation.
• Explain newly installed systems and basic operation to homeowners and customers.
• Use company mobile applications, tablets, and field-service software to document work as required.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC installation experience.
• Demonstrated experience installing and working with:
• • Mini-split systems
  • Boilers
  • Water heaters
  • Rooftop units (RTUs)
  • Hot-air furnaces
  • Central air conditioning systems
  • Heat pumps
  • Residential and light commercial HVAC systems
• Hands-on experience disassembling and reassembling packaged HVAC units.
• Ability to fabricate and modify ductwork and duct transitions on site.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC installation procedures, equipment, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, sheet-metal tools, and HVAC installation equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to independently work through field installation challenges and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Valid driver's license
• Fluent English
• Ability to safely lift and carry at least 50 pounds, including equipment and components.
