An Automotive Drivability Technician is a specialized mechanic who diagnoses and repairs complex engine performance, fuel, electrical, and emissions issues. They use advanced diagnostic scanners and multimeters to solve problems that cause vehicles to run poorly, lose power, or fail emissions tests. Please only experienced technicians apply.
Compensation:
$40 - $60 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance, as needed, such as fluid level checks, tire rotations, brake pad replacement, or oil changes
- Create protocols for tracking diagnostic tests and repairs, acquiring necessary technical manuals, and more throughout our dealerships
- Clearly articulate automotive repair issues and repairs needed to remedy them to both customers and auto mechanics
- Follow all manufacturer specifications for vehicle system repairs to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and facilitate returning business
- Use diagnostic equipment, technical expertise, and the vehicle’s integrated diagnostic systems to identify and determine the cause of malfunction codes
Qualifications:
- ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive
- Must have completed a post-secondary training program in automotive service technology; associate degree a plus
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary
- Certifications for diagnosing and repairing complex engine performance, fuel, electrical, and emissions issues
