Overview
Our client is a leading energy infrastructure organization seeking an accomplished Lead Engineer to oversee critical construction engineering operations. This is a senior-level contract position requiring extensive experience in managing complex engineering projects within large-scale industrial or energy environments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure engineering excellence, and drive project execution for major construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for all engineering aspects of major construction projects
- Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents
- Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
- Manage engineering quality control and assurance processes throughout project lifecycle
- Lead technical problem-solving efforts and provide solutions for complex engineering challenges
- Interface with project management, construction teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff and contractors
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement engineering procedures and best practices
- Participate in risk assessment and mitigation planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); Master's preferred
- Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a lead/senior role
- Extensive experience in energy, utility, or heavy industrial construction projects
- Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred
- Proven track record managing engineering for large-scale capital projects ($50M+)
- Expert knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards relevant to energy infrastructure
- Strong proficiency with engineering software and project management tools
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical information to diverse audiences
- Ability to work on-site full-time at construction operations location
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team management experience
