Overview

Our client is a leading energy infrastructure organization seeking an accomplished Lead Engineer to oversee critical construction engineering operations. This is a senior-level contract position requiring extensive experience in managing complex engineering projects within large-scale industrial or energy environments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure engineering excellence, and drive project execution for major construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for all engineering aspects of major construction projects
• Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents
• Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
• Manage engineering quality control and assurance processes throughout project lifecycle
• Lead technical problem-solving efforts and provide solutions for complex engineering challenges
• Interface with project management, construction teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff and contractors
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement engineering procedures and best practices
• Participate in risk assessment and mitigation planning

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); Master's preferred
• Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a lead/senior role
• Extensive experience in energy, utility, or heavy industrial construction projects
• Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred
• Proven track record managing engineering for large-scale capital projects ($50M+)
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards relevant to energy infrastructure
• Strong proficiency with engineering software and project management tools
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical information to diverse audiences
• Ability to work on-site full-time at construction operations location
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team management experience
