AI Developer (Key Personnel)

Role Summary

The AI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying AI and machine learning solutions that support the U.S. Government customer's trade promotion, enforcement, analytics, and operational modernization objectives within its AI-COE.

The AI Developer will be responsible for designing and developing AI models, algorithms, and applications to solve specific problems; collaborating to preprocess and analyze large datasets; implementing machine learning and deep learning algorithms and frameworks; fine-tuning AI models for improved performance and accuracy; documenting code, algorithms, and processes for future references; integrating AI models into production systems; and staying up-to-date with the latest AI technologies.

This role serves as the technical backbone of the U.S. Government customer's AI-COE, ensuring models are scalable, secure, explainable, and compliant with Federal AI governance requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop AI/ML models, including predictive analytics, NLP, and GenAI-enabled capabilities.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines that support training, inference, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Low Code AI Engineer(s) to expose models via APIs and reusable services. Implement model validation, testing, bias detection, and performance monitoring.
  • Support AI-COE use-case intake, technical feasibility assessments, and solution design.
  • Align work with DOC/ITA cybersecurity, data governance, and architecture standards.
  • Produce technical documentation, model cards, and deployment artifacts.

            Required Qualifications

            • U.S. Citizenship.
            • Must have and maintain Public Trust, minimum.
            • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.
            • 7+ years of software development experience with 4+ years focused on AI/ML.
            • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
            • Experience with cloud-based AI services and containerized deployments.
            • Knowledge of Responsible AI, explainability techniques, and AI risk management.
            • Familiarity with API development and integration with enterprise platforms.

            Work Location

            • Work Location Initial, 30-day transition period - On-site full-time at the customer's Washington DC, location.
            • Post-transition – hybrid 65% Contractor-site / 35% On-site at customer Washington DC location.

            Nice To Have

            • Experience working in federal IT environments.
            • Experience supporting Federal AI governance frameworks.
            • Azure DevOps, Power Platform,, Power Apps, Microsoft Copilot Studio
            • Migration Experience from IAAS to PAAS and SAAS
