Duration: Direct-hire
Compensation: $80 - 90k / year
Work schedule: Monday-Friday (8 AM-5PM CST) - onsite 3x per week

The IT Support Engineer II provides advanced technical support, resolves complex issues, and helps maintain and improve the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role handles escalated support requests, manages system configurations, and ensures reliable operation of networks, servers, and software systems.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier II support for escalated hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot complex problems including server errors, system crashes, application failures, and network disruptions.
- Use SQL, Python, and query tools to support data-centric reporting initiatives.
- Assist with infrastructure and SCADA system maintenance, configuration, and monitoring.
- Perform Windows system administration, including user management, updates, patches, and security tasks.
- Support LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, switches, VPNs, and related security configurations.
- Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with IT teams and escalate critical issues when needed.
- Assist with system upgrades, deployments, and new installations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior IT staff and end users.
What You Bring:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of systems administration experience.
- Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certification(s).
- ITIL Foundations (or obtain within 90 days).
- Strong troubleshooting skills using OSI model principles.
- Understanding of cloud network segmentation
- Working knowledge of PowerShell and Microsoft System Center (SCCM, SCOM, SCOrch, SCSM).
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a matrixed environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
