LOCATION: Waterloo, IA

DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant will provide general administrative support to the management team assisting with day-to-day tasks and data entry. This in an important role in the organization that will require service, tact, diplomacy, and a professional approach to the job.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Financial Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and present weekly and monthly financial reporting to the General Manager
  • Maintain financial records and general ledger
  • Cash handling, bank deposits and reconciliation
  • Collections and Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable, Receivable and Journal Entries
  • Point of Sale reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly Expense Reports and month end close

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains record keeping
  • Provides administrative support related to contracts, certificates of insurance, W9 forms, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors and callers by resolving information 
requests, directing to the appropriate parties or taking messages 

  • Perform general office duties, such as ordering office supplies, maintaining database systems, and distributing mail 

  • Other duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred (or acceptable experience in lieu of degree)
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Must have experience in accrual accounting
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience using Quick Books and Dynamics (preferred)
  • Well organized and thorough with the ability to multi-task
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Team approach to task completion

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 20-40 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend into awkward positions while performing job functions
  • Must comply with safety and health code standards
  • Facility has intermittent noise
