Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000 per year (based on experience)

Position Overview
The Pre-Litigation Paralegal will manage personal injury cases from intake through pre-litigation resolution. This role requires strong case investigation skills, medical records management experience, lien negotiation knowledge, and the ability to aggressively move files forward under attorney direction.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, tech-savvy, and comfortable managing a mid-size docket while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities
Case Management (Intake Through Settlement)
\t•\tManage cases from initial intake through pre-litigation settlement
\t•\tConduct initial case investigations and liability analysis
\t•\tReview police reports and incident reports
\t•\tRequest and analyze body camera footage and other evidence
\t•\tDraft and submit Open Records Requests
\t•\tMaintain detailed case timelines and liability summaries
\t•\tPrepare comprehensive demand packages
Medical Records & Treatment Coordination
\t•\tOrder, track, and review medical records and billing
\t•\tStay on top of ongoing medical treatment in coordination with treatment coordinators
\t•\tAnalyze medical records for completeness and damages support
\t•\tOrganize medical chronologies and summaries
\t•\tIdentify gaps in treatment and flag concerns to attorneys
Liens & Negotiation Experience (Required)
\t•\tIdentify and manage medical liens
\t•\tNegotiate reductions with:
\t•\tHealth insurance carriers
\t•\tERISA plans
\t•\tMedicaid / Medicare
\t•\tHospital liens
\t•\tLetters of protection providers
\t•\tMaintain lien tracking spreadsheets and documentation
\t•\tEnsure proper lien resolution prior to settlement disbursement
Investigation & Case Development
\t•\tInvestigate cases from all angles
\t•\tCoordinate witness statements
\t•\tObtain surveillance and public records
\t•\tAnalyze liability disputes and insurance defenses
\t•\tCommunicate directly with insurance adjusters when appropriate
Organization & File Management
\t•\tMaintain organized digital files
\t•\tEnsure all documentation is properly saved and labeled
\t•\tKeep cases litigation-ready at all times
\t•\tTrack deadlines and follow-ups
\t•\tAggressively move files forward without waiting to be told

Required Qualifications
\t•\tMinimum 2 years of personal injury pre-litigation experience
\t•\tFluent in Spanish (speaking and writing required)
\t•\tDemonstrated experience handling medical records and lien negotiations
\t•\tExperience drafting Open Records Requests
\t•\tExperience requesting body camera footage
\t•\tStrong understanding of insurance claims processes
\t•\tHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
\t•\tStrong written and verbal communication skills
\t•\tSelf-starter with the ability to work independently
