Join Our Team at Klute – Maintenance Technician Internship
For over 60 years, Klute has been a trusted leader in the fabrication of substation structures and tapered tube transmission line poles. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician Intern currently enrolled in a community college Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, or related program who is eager to gain real-world experience in a manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
As a Maintenance Technician Intern, you will work directly with our maintenance team to apply what you are learning in school to real equipment and systems. This hands-on opportunity will allow you to develop troubleshooting skills, learn preventative maintenance practices, and gain exposure to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in heavy fabrication.

What You'll Gain Experience In:
- Assisting with preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Supporting basic mechanical and electrical repairs under supervision
- Reading blueprints, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Learning troubleshooting techniques for industrial equipment
- Safe use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Supporting facility and equipment improvement projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related technical program
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Strong attendance and work ethic
- Interest in a long-term career in industrial maintenance
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and/or walking for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work safely in a production environment
