SUMMARY The Trainer is a passionate and energetic Team Member. The Personal Trainer is responsible for providing personalized fitness training sessions, creating customized workout plans, and offering continual guidance to clients to help them achieve their fitness goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct fitness assessments to determine clients' current fitness levels, goals, and any limitations or injuries.
- Design individualized exercise programs tailored to clients' needs, taking into account their fitness level, goals, and preferences.
- Lead one-on-one or group training sessions, providing instruction, motivation, and support to clients during workouts.
- Monitor clients' progress and make adjustments to their workout plans as needed to ensure continued progress and prevent plateaus.
- Participate in the development and management of sport-specific individual and group strength training programs.
- Work in cooperation with the sports medicine or physical therapy staff in the return to sport of injured athletes.
- Teach and demonstrate proper lifting techniques for various forms of strength training.
- Teach and demonstrate knowledge of speed, agility and flexibility training.
- Teach and advise student athletes on proper methods of rest and recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of clients' progress, including measurements, weights, and achievements.
- Stay updated on the latest fitness trends, research, and best practices to continuously improve your knowledge and skills.
- Other duties as assigned by Team Lead or shift leader.

This Trainer must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate they can perform the essential functions of the job, along with the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire clients.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and exercise science.
- The ability to respond appropriately under pressure with sound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to build relationships with clients.
- Passion for fitness and helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
CREDENTIALS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Personal Trainer CPT Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, ISSA) and/or CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist).
- At least 2 years of experience in the Fitness Industry and personal training.
- CPR and AED certification
