Based in Austin, Texas, we specialize in thermoelectric technology and are proud to fully design and manufacture in the United States. With a team that has over 100 years of experience in solid-state cooling, thermoelectric devices and structures, and thermal management, we provide environmentally friendly, sustainable solid-state heating, cooling, and energy harvesting technologies with ground-breaking efficiencies.
The Test Engineer will be responsible for the characterization of thermoelectric material and devices using LabVIEW-based data acquisition systems and conveying results across multiple technical groups within the company, as well as maintaining testing infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years work/laboratory experience, characterization of thermoelectric devices preferred
- Test automation tools such as LabVIEW, Python or MATLAB
- Data processing and reporting through Python or MATLAB and Microsoft Office
- Data instrumentation and collection (digital multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems, relay switching)
- Clean room etiquette
Plus Skills:
- Familiar with vacuum chambers and vacuum hardware (pumps, valves, hosing, sealants)
- CAD using Solidworks or similar
- 3-D printing for rapid prototyping
- Silicon wafer probe stations
Responsibilities:
- Perform TE material characterization to extract electrical conductivity, Seebeck and Hall parameters in custom-made test chambers
- Perform TE device characterization to extract maximum parameters (voltage, current) and electrical properties (RDC, RAC)
- Perform standard wafer-level electrical measurements via probing on manual and semi-automatic probe stations
- Create internal reports to summarize measurement results for distribution and presentation
- Write and modify LabVIEW test programs and data processing tools to improve testing throughput and efficiency
- Maintain, modify and design custom test fixtures as needed
