Senior Energy Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Energy Engineer who is highly self‐motivated and capable of delivering exceptional value to clients with minimal oversight from project managers and senior leadership. This role requires a hyper‐organized, semi‐autonomous professional with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with client stakeholders, including senior‐level management, on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate demonstrates technical excellence, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to identifying and delivering client value in complex, fast‐moving environments.

Core Requirements

  • Strong energy analysis capabilities with solid technical fundamentals, enabling timely and effective delivery of energy studies and recommendations
  • Working knowledge of energy modeling using both industry software tools and spreadsheet‐based methods
  • Working understanding of energy economics, including cost–benefit analysis and lifecycle considerations
  • Knowledge of energy audit and retro‐commissioning processes and best practices
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver work on or ahead of schedule
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and mentor junior team members
  • Vision for Value:
    • Ability to extrapolate a client’s value proposition based on limited or incomplete information
    • Capability to define a logical, outcome‐driven value path aligned with client objectives
    • Skill in developing a clear roadmap and collaborating with clients to achieve goals with minimal direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, project managers, and technical teams
  • Experience working effectively with subcontractors, prospective subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to develop and implement energy projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or comparable energy/engineering credentials
  • Working experience with Building Management Systems / Building Automation Systems (BMS/BAS)
  • Familiarity with utility incentive programs (e.g., New York and New Jersey utility and state programs)
  • Experience with energy project finance structures and funding mechanisms
