Position: Junior IT Specialist

Location: Valley Green, PA

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking a Junior IT Specialist to join our Cable Backplane Systems engineering team located in Valley Green, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hardware & End-User Support

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues including component failures, peripheral connectivity problems, and performance concerns.
  • Perform workstation imaging, deployment, and replacement activities.
  • Assist employees with technical support requests through the IT help desk system.
  • Set up and support conference room technology and audiovisual equipment.

Manufacturing Systems Support

  • Support computers, terminals, barcode scanners, label printers, and other technology used throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware issues affecting production operations.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to minimize downtime related to IT equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation of manufacturing technology assets.

Asset Management

  • Track IT equipment inventory, warranties, and lifecycle replacements.
  • Prepare and deploy hardware for new hires and employee transfers.
  • Manage hardware disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and equipment assignments.

Infrastructure Support

  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including cabling, switches, wireless access points, and connectivity issues.
  • Support user account administration within Microsoft environments.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patching under supervision.
  • Assist with backup verification and disaster recovery procedures.

Security & Compliance

  • Follow cybersecurity best practices and company security policies.
  • Assist with endpoint security software deployment and monitoring.
  • Report potential security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Support IT documentation and standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–2 years of IT support experience.
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware components and troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing and configuring Windows operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows 11.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and endpoint management tools.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, switches, wireless networks).
  • Experience with barcode scanners, industrial printers, or shop-floor technology.
