The Junior Program Manager supports tooling and manufacturing program execution within the medical injection molding division. This entry-level role assists in planning, tracking, and coordinating activities to ensure projects meet customer and quality requirements. The Junior Program Manager develops foundational program management skills while learning cross-functional collaboration and technical manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Support the planning and tracking of program schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Assist in documentation control, meeting minutes, and progress reporting.
- Coordinate communication between departments, suppliers, and customers under supervision.
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Production to monitor program activities.
- Help organize program reviews and maintain project files and dashboards in Smartsheet or MS Project.
- Participate in risk reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement projects.
Customer & Supplier Interaction
- Support communication with customers on status updates and documentation needs.
- Assist in coordinating supplier tool build schedules and design approvals.
Learning & Development
- Gain working knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling design/build, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal training on project management methodology and ERP systems.
- Shadow senior team members to learn effective leadership and communication practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of experience in project coordination, engineering, or manufacturing support (medical industry preferred).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Smartsheet, or other project management tools.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow into a full program management role.
