Description
Fredericksburg Field House is a leading indoor sports and recreation facility serving the greater Fredericksburg community. Our mission is to provide inclusive, high-quality programs that promote fitness, health, and fun for all ages. We’re seeking energetic and skilled Pilates Instructors to deliver exceptional classes that inspire strength, flexibility, and mind-body awareness. The Fredericksburg Field House has a dedicated studio environment for classes.
The Pilates Instructor is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and effective Pilates classes—focusing on proper technique, alignment, and controlled movement. Instructors should create a positive and motivating class atmosphere that supports members in achieving their wellness goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Design and instruct Pilates classes (Mat and/or Reformer) tailored to a variety of fitness levels and abilities.

Demonstrate proper form, technique, and modifications to ensure participant safety and effectiveness.

Educate participants on core principles of Pilates, posture, and mindful movement.

Prepare class space, equipment, and music prior to sessions; maintain a clean and organized environment.

Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that promotes member engagement and retention.

Track attendance and report feedback or maintenance needs to the Fitness Manager.

Stay current with Pilates trends and continuing education opportunities.
Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older.

Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Certification from a recognized training program (e.g., Balanced Body, STOTT, BASI, Power Pilates, Polestar, Peak Pilates, etc.).

CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Minimum 6 months of teaching experience preferred (Mat or Apparatus-based).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Strong understanding of human anatomy, alignment, and injury prevention.

Must pass a background check as required by Virginia state employment standards for fitness facilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Certification in both Mat and Equipment-based Pilates.

Experience teaching in gyms, community centers, or sports facilities.

Additional fitness certifications (e.g., Yoga, Barre, Personal Training).

Familiarity with class scheduling software.
