CTO / Founding Engineer (Full-Stack, Backend-Leaning)
Creator Economy / Direct-to-Fan
Location: Remote (U.S. preferred or U.S. time zone overlap)

Nxt Level Recruiting is partnering with a high-growth direct-to-fan services company in the music/creator economy to hire a Founding Engineer. Our client works with established artists and creator teams to turn anonymous listeners and followers into engaged fans and repeat buyers, powering high-visibility digital campaigns and measurable revenue impact.
This is an early, high-ownership role for a builder who enjoys shipping, partnering closely with the business, and helping shape product direction as the company scales and prepares for its next stage of growth.
What Our Client Is Building
Our client is developing a web platform and system designed to maximize long-term fan engagement and monetization for musicians and creators. The company has real traction, strong case studies, and a growing roster of notable artist partners.
What You'll Do
- Own and ship full-stack features with a backend-leaning focus
- Lead and evolve a production platform that supports high-scale fan campaigns and integrations
- Work closely with leadership as a thought partner on roadmap priorities and execution
- Help establish engineering best practices and technical direction from the ground up
- Support client outcomes by building reliable, fast, and scalable systems
- As the team grows, mentor and potentially manage additional engineers
Tech Stack
- Frontend: Angular
- Backend: .NET
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Cloud: AWS (RDS, EC2, Lambda, S3, etc.)
- Integrations: Third-party APIs and partner systems
What They're Looking For
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience (backend-leaning preferred)
- Strong experience shipping as an individual contributor (hands-on builder)
- Ownership mindset: self-sufficient, proactive, and accountable for outcomes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—comfortable partnering with non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote startup environment
- Interest in (or passion for) the music industry / creator economy is a plus
