We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Process Control Quality Assurance (CQA) Utility Technician to join our team. In this multifaceted role, you will engage in laboratory work, wastewater testing, and quality inspections, along with a variety of other tasks. You will be responsible for inspecting coils, performing tests, managing coil treatments, and ensuring compliance with PH permit limits.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect coils and perform quality testing, including thickness and coating measurements.
  • Prepare and manage baths for coil treatment, ensuring specifications are met.
  • Conduct water treatment and testing, maintaining compliance with PH permit limits.
  • Load and unload filters and document coil quality, including the thickness of electric galvanized coatings.
  • Perform titrations to determine free acid levels, conduct physical testing, and perform ICP analysis and pH measurements.
  • Monitor coil production and communicate any defects to the production team.
  • Conduct blister testing, record results, and communicate findings to the appropriate mill representative.
  • Perform a multitude of tests on coils based on customer specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Previous laboratory experience from either college or work.
  • Understanding of the PH scale.
  • Experience working with chemicals, paints, coatings, or metals.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with wastewater treatment, pumps, and valves.
  • Quality control and assurance experience.
  • Visual inspection and production quality check skills.

Work Environment

This position operates within a non-union role in a union environment. Candidates must be open to working various shifts, with potential placement on the 2nd or 3rd shift based on performance and team needs. Available shifts include 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Expect to work 5 days a week, with shifts potentially extending to 10 or 12 hours. Rotating Saturdays are required, and overtime is paid at 1.5x after 8 hours daily and all day on Saturdays, with double time after 12 hours daily. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
