Senior Data Governance Analyst

Salary Range: $102k - $112k
Xentity is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst who will support our federal client's data governance initiatives by developing essential processes, procedures, and artifacts. The successful candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of modern data architectures supporting enterprise-wide data integration and cataloging.
Position Scope
- Collaborate closely with federal data governance leadership to develop governance processes and artifacts
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discovery sessions involving stakeholders across multiple disciplines
- Translate complex technical data governance concepts into clear, simplified documentation suitable for various audiences
- Support development and implementation of data governance best practices
- Provide guidance on modern data architecture approaches to support data integration and cataloging
- Ensure thorough documentation, definition clarity, and alignment with organizational data governance objectives
Experience
- 5 minimum years of direct experience in data governance roles
- Bachelor's Degree minimum education in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable experience in creating and managing data governance artifacts
Required Requirements
- Strong understanding of databases, data structures, and modern data architectures
- Intermediate-level facilitation skills with proven ability to drive issues to closure
- Proven ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service
- Must be US Citizen to meet government contract requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust clearance
Preferred Requirements
- Master's Degree or higher in Information Management, Data Science, or related field
- Professional certifications in Data Governance (e.g., DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP))
- Experience with federal government data management practices and standards
- Knowledge of data cataloging tools and technologies
Job Goal
First 30 days
- Familiarize with client data governance framework and ongoing initiatives
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders and governance team members
- Review existing data governance artifacts and identify immediate documentation needs
First 60 days
- Actively facilitate meetings and workshops to refine governance processes
- Begin drafting or updating critical governance documentation
- Identify and propose initial recommendations for improving governance practices
First 90 days
- Deliver first set of comprehensive data governance artifacts
- Establish regular cadence for governance documentation updates and stakeholder communications
- Provide initial best practice recommendations to leadership
First Year Job Goal
- Fully integrate into federal data governance leadership support
- Continuously refine and enhance data governance processes and documentation
- Contribute significantly to the maturity and effectiveness of the federal client's data governance framework
- Support ongoing training and communication activities to embed data governance best practices within the organization
