Key responsibilities
- Designing and implementing SCCM environments: Creating the overall structure and strategy for using SCCM within an organization.
- Software and OS deployment: Developing strategies for the deployment of applications, operating systems, and updates across desktops and servers.
- Security and compliance: Ensuring the environment is secure and compliant with organizational policies.
- Automation: Creating scripts, often using PowerShell, to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Resolving issues related to the SCCM environment.
- Collaboration: Working with other IT teams to support and improve the infrastructure.
- Documentation: Documenting the architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Required skills and qualifications
- Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of SCCM, Windows OS deployment, patch management, and scripting (especially PowerShell).
- Related technologies: Familiarity with other Microsoft tools like Intune, Active Directory, and Windows Server is highly valued.
- Strategic thinking: The ability to develop long-term strategies for managing IT infrastructure.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field like computer science is often required.
- Certifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as the Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, are beneficial.
