Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Drill Coring Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating coring drills to extract concrete, asphalt, or soil samples for engineering and construction purposes. This role requires attention to safety, equipment maintenance, and quality control, along with the ability to work in various field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform concrete, asphalt, or soil coring using handheld and rig-mounted coring equipment
- Follow job specifications and safety protocols at all times
- Accurately measure and mark coring locations according to project requirements
- Collect, label, and store core samples for testing and documentation
- Transport and set up drilling equipment at job sites
- Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting of coring equipment
- Complete daily field reports and submit documentation in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and other field staff
Qualifications
- Prior experience in core drilling, construction, or a related field preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, directions, project specifications, and construction plans.
- Physically able to lift, move, bend, climb, and work in various outdoor conditions.
- Capability to obtain necessary industry certifications.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word).
Salary: $28 - $32 per hour, depending on experience, credentials, including years of similar work experience.
