POSITION SUMMARY
The Operational Team Lead (Material Handling) will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of material handling employees to achieve goals and maintain high standards of logistics practices. This role will require a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and effective communication to drive team success.
Shift
- Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5:00pm
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Lead logistic activities to ensure all inbound and outbound material.
- Ensure safe practices and compliance for the operations of all powered industrial trucks.
- Partner with the Leadership on material handling needs and execution.
- Collaborate with other area leads and supervisors to facilitate cross-training opportunities; develop employee knowledge in multiple skill sets.
- Implement work instructions to ensure employee knowledge and accuracy is up to date.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production scheduler, and shipping to monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for all parts.
- Effectively communicate maintenance issues and repair and replace consumables as needed.
- Serve as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets.
- Serve as the initial point of contact and primary support resource for employees, functioning as the first line of defense in addressing and resolving various issues they may encounter.
- Perform other related or non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or a combination of experience and education required.
- Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing and/or distribution setting with some leadership responsibilities required.
- 3-5 years in distribution setting with some leadership responsibilities preferred.

- Highly proficient at operating Powered Industrial Trucks

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead: working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and is a knowledge resource for other team members. No direct reports or supervisory responsibility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production and distribution-based environment.
