Warehouse Worker -- Second Shift

This role supports efficient production and distribution operations by accurately handling materials, maintaining inventory records, and operating material handling equipment. This role reads and interprets work orders, stages and moves printed materials, and assists with shipping, receiving, and waste removal while following established procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders and follow verbal instructions to determine which materials need to be moved and where they should be staged.
  • Log bindery and finishing materials out of inventory for upcoming jobs, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Log excess materials back into inventory upon job completion, maintaining up-to-date and organized inventory documentation.
  • Wrap skids securely to prepare materials for storage or transport and to protect products from damage.
  • Convey materials from storage areas or work sites to designated locations using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Stage printed materials to the appropriate equipment and production areas to support efficient workflow.
  • Remove full waste boxes from bindery, finishing, and pressroom areas and transport them to designated disposal locations.
  • Maintain product handling equipment, including basic cleaning and inspection, and report any issues or malfunctions promptly.
  • Remove and label samples of materials with identifying information for tracking, quality control, or customer requirements.
  • Operate a forklift or reach truck to load, unload, and move materials and products throughout the warehouse and production areas.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of sit-down forklift experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Experience with inventory tracking, warehouse inventory processes, and basic shipping and receiving activities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and production setting that involves working around bindery, finishing, and pressroom operations. You regularly handle pallets, skids, and printed materials, and use equipment such as sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and straight trucks. The work includes moving materials between storage areas, production lines, and buildings, as well as performing loading and unloading tasks. You may spend extended periods on your feet and operate powered industrial equipment in a busy, deadline-driven environment. Basic computer systems are used for inventory logging and tracking, and you are expected to follow all safety procedures and equipment guidelines while maintaining a neat and orderly work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
