Director of Children’s Ministry (Part-Time)
Franconia United Methodist Church | Alexandria, VA
Franconia United Methodist Church is seeking a Director of Children’s Ministry to lead a vibrant program serving children from birth through 6th grade and their families. This part-time role focuses on helping children grow in faith through discipleship, worship, fellowship, and service opportunities.
The Director will develop and teach engaging programs, recruit and mentor volunteers, and build strong relationships with children and families in the church and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and teach weekly children’s ministry programming and faith formation
- Lead weekly AGC Chapel program
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers
- Coordinate children’s participation in worship and special events
- Plan seasonal programs such as Vacation Bible School and holiday events
- Communicate regularly with families and the congregation
Qualifications
Experience in children’s ministry, education, or youth programming with strong leadership and communication skills. Experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioral, or sensory needs is strongly valued. United Methodist background a plus.

Schedule: 25–30 hours per week. Includes Sunday mornings, and occasional evening and weekend events.
