Harders Bradford Insurance Agency is seeking a motivated Commercial Lines Producer to drive new business growth across our commercial book. In this role, you will identify, pursue, and close new commercial accounts while partnering with our account management team, who handle day-to-day servicing so you can stay focused on selling. This is an opportunity to build a book of business with the backing of an established independent agency and a flagship carrier relationship with ERIE Insurance.


Work Arrangement: This is a mostly remote position. New hires should expect a greater amount of in-office time at our Rockville office during the initial training and onboarding period; once fully onboarded, work is performed primarily remotely, with occasional in-office days for team meetings, client appointments, and agency events.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and generate new commercial lines opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, and targeted outreach

• Conduct discovery meetings with business owners to identify exposures, coverage gaps, and risk management needs

• Prepare and present new business submissions, working with carriers to secure competitive quotes and coverage terms

• Present proposals and close new accounts, clearly explaining coverage recommendations and value to business owners

• Partner with commercial account managers for a smooth handoff of new accounts into ongoing service

• Round out accounts by identifying cross-sell opportunities across commercial, personal, and life lines

• Maintain an active pipeline and document all sales activity in the agency management system in accordance with agency standards

• Represent the agency at industry events, association meetings, and community functions to build referral relationships

• Stay current on commercial lines products, appetite, and market conditions across Maryland, Virginia, and DC

Requirements

• Active Property Casualty insurance license in Maryland (required; multi-state licensing a plus)

• Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance sales or commercial account management experience in an agency or brokerage environment

• Proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and close business with commercial clients

• Working knowledge of commercial coverages including BOP, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, Commercial Property, and Umbrella/Excess

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex coverage concepts clearly to business owners

• Self-motivated with strong organizational habits; capable of managing a pipeline and multiple deadlines simultaneously

• CIC, CISR, or other industry designations a plus
