Our shop combines a passion for artisan cheeses & locally crafted goods with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. In addition to our cheese offerings, we feature a market, café, and picturesque picnic grounds, providing an unforgettable experience for our customers.
Job Summary: As a Retail Associate in our cheese shop, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and sharing our unique selection of artisan cheeses. You will engage with customers, provide product knowledge, and create a warm environment that encourages guests to explore and enjoy our offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
● Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
● Provide knowledgeable advice on cheese selections, pairings, and tasting experiences.
● Maintain shop cleanliness and organization, ensuring products are displayed attractively.
● Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
● Collaborate with team members to enhance customer experience and promote onsite events.
● Assist with inventory management, restocking, and receiving shipments.
● Ensure compliance with food safety and cleanliness standards.
● Participate in ongoing training to expand cheese knowledge and improve customer service skills.
Qualifications:
● Previous experience in retail or customer service, preferably in the food or specialty shop industry.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a friendly demeanor is essential.
● Passion for cheese and willingness to learn about different varieties and regions.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
● Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
● Experience with cashiering and basic math skills are a plus.
