The VP, Technology is responsible for evaluating existing technologies and processes, then advising the Executive Team on the best and most efficient ways to move forward, keeping GLCU’s competitive advantage in the forefront. In addition, the VP will plan, direct and coordinate all activities of the IS/IT function. The VP ensures consistent and effective utilization of all platforms for members and staff, including but not limited to, core system, digital banking, ancillary systems such as loan, mortgage, credit card, data warehouse and MCIF/CRM systems.


As a Vice President, Technology, your duties will be:

  • Oversee the development of the strategic plan for cybersecurity initiatives at the Credit Union, with particular emphasis on technology affecting the member experience, in order to position the organization as a best-in-class provider of technology enabled financial services. Delivers and executes on the short and long-term vision of the CU’s technology needs and goals. This includes core system, member-facing technology, network management and security, disaster recovery and vendor management. Establishes and maintains service-level agreements.
  • Develops and executes plans for the CU’s network, telecommunications, hardware and enterprise software requirements according to business needs. Monitors the capacity and utilization of the CU’s applications, systems and hardware.
  • Evaluates, recommends and implements hardware, software, telecommunications and third-party resources to maintain and improve operational efficiency while reducing the total cost of ownership. Monitors vendor contracts and service agreements. Responsible for managing and participating in multiple technology projects. Participates in the management and strategic direction of GLCU’s Data Warehouse and Data Analytics initiatives. Ensures that IT capabilities support organizational growth and changing organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain department budget, monitors expenditures to ensure budget is used to maximize efficiency of the department.
  • Develops and administers GLCU’s IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans. Ensures critical systems are backed up locally or replicated to the Disaster Recovery site. Ensures the site and systems are operational and able to function in the event of a disaster. Performs required testing on all systems on a regular basis and reports results to the Leadership Team and the Supervisory Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Remains current in regulatory compliance and industry IT developments. Ensures that the GLCU’s IT practices conform to current regulatory guidance. Recommend changes to support regulatory requirements and to ensure that the IT infrastructure remains competitive.
  • Directly manages the Manager of Information Technology as well as the Manager of Information Systems. Consistently demonstrates GLCU’s leadership competencies. Interviews, hires and evaluate staff performance. Meets regularly with staff one-on-one to ensure staff development and progress. Supports exceptional service delivery to provide staff with consistently available service, including support, training and maintenance of all computer systems used throughout the credit union.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all GLCU policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements needed to be part of this team:

  • Minimum of eight years of similar or related experience.
  • A master’s degree or bachelor’s degree plus professional certification required.
