Engineer Sr (Electrical Studies Subject Matter Expert)
Florida (or remote)
12-Month Contract

Overview of the Role

Join the forefront of renewable energy innovation as an Electrical Studies Subject Matter Expert for a leading clean energy company. In this pivotal role, you'll provide critical expertise in preparing and reviewing studies for utility-scale battery projects, helping to expand one of the fastest-growing energy storage fleets in the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design and engineering of major components for large-scale energy storage projects

  • Conduct and review arc flash analysis, reactive power studies, and TOV studies

  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in engineering drawings and studies

  • Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts

  • Collaborate with diverse teams to solve problems and integrate systems

  • Evaluate specifications for major equipment purchasing

  • Navigate permitting requirements and propose solutions to challenges

  • Travel approximately 10% for project-specific duties

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)

  • 7+ years of Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction experience

  • Expertise in power electronics, battery storage system design, substation design, or generation tie design

  • Proficiency with ETAP, PSCAD and PSSE software

  • Knowledge of energy storage technologies and battery safety standards

  • Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated with ability to handle specialized technical tasks independently
