Job Summary:
The IT Configuration Technician I is responsible for the setup, configuration, and deployment of hardware and software systems across the organization. This entry-level role supports IT operations by ensuring devices are properly prepared for end users, maintaining inventory records, and assisting with troubleshooting and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals according to company standards.
- Install and update operating systems and software applications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, configuration changes, and deployments.
- Assist in imaging and re-imaging systems using standard tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, or similar).
- Support asset tagging and tracking processes.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Follow established procedures for handling and securing sensitive data.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal users during setup and support activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in IT or related field preferred.
- Certification: CompTIA A+ required.
- Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, configuration, or related technical role.
- Skills:
- Basic understanding of Windows and macOS environments.
- Familiarity with imaging tools and deployment processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
- May require lifting and moving equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Occasional travel between office locations may be required.
- Standard office hours with potential for after-hours support during deployments.
