About the Role:
The Automotive Parts Counter Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of automotive parts sales and inventory management within a retail or wholesale environment. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by accurately identifying and supplying the correct automotive parts to customers, technicians, and service personnel. The role requires maintaining organized inventory records, processing sales transactions efficiently, and assisting with stock replenishment to meet customer demand. The clerk acts as a knowledgeable resource, offering technical information and guidance on parts compatibility and usage. Ultimately, this position supports the overall success of the parts department by facilitating timely and accurate parts distribution, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and terminology.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Previous experience working in an automotive parts department or related retail environment.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and vehicle systems.

- Ability to lift and move automotive parts weighing up to 50 pounds safely.

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their automotive parts needs and providing expert assistance.
- Identify and locate automotive parts using catalogs, computer systems, and product knowledge to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Process sales transactions, including cash, credit, and invoicing, while maintaining accurate records of sales and inventory.
- Manage inventory by receiving shipments, stocking shelves, conducting regular inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with service technicians and other departments to ensure timely parts availability and resolve any order issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts counter and storage area to facilitate efficient operations.
- Provide technical information and advice on automotive parts, compatibility, and installation when requested.
